Self Portrait from High School
This was one of 8 A1 self portraits I painted for my entrance folio to the General Art course at Duncan of Jordanstone and also part of my SQA Advanced Higher folio. This one is the one that most looks like me. I gave it to my Dad for Christmas 2009, he is currently undecided wether to get a black or brown frame for it? The painting was created using acrylic paint.
Milesmark Primary School
I am currently working on a bried using this drawing of the primary school I attended in Dunfermline called Milesmark Primary School. I can honestly say that the years I spent at Milesmark where the the greatest. So many funny memories.
Crayons T-shirt Illustration
My good mates from the band Crayons asked me to do a T-shirt design which i am glad worked out and they got plenty made. Buy one. I am sure you will be able to work out the concept by looking at it. I have currently designed more and I think the right ones are getting printed in the future. www.myspace.com/crayyyons. Good lads.
My favourite image
This was an old piece of tak on my desk in 1st year which I somehow moulded into a really nice piece. Unfortunately I do not have the tak anymore but fortunately I did take a photo of it. For some reason I am never sick of looking at this image and I didn't even mean to create it at the time. Probably the best thing I have ever made. A timeless image which I always go back to. There is no religious meaning to it but i feel the cross symbolises skateboarding as a culture and lifestyle to believe in.
More 1st year work
This piece was inspired by the surfing era in the 60's/70's in California. I used a scanned image of a Z-boy skating from a surf book as the image for the surfer's silhouette.
1st year work
The brief was called 'the visual journey'. I walked around and took photos of interesting shapes and marks.
